If I want to cut my gear down even more I sometimes run my guitar, beatbuddy and mic into a Roland Street cube which can be used as a monitor and feed that mix to the B52 and I surprisingly get a pretty good sound. I use a Behringer XR12 for a mixer and I run either acoustic direct into this or an electric through some pedals including a Joyo American (Tech 21 Blonde) copy which acts as my amp in the chain. I use the B52 for smaller gigs and will be getting a proper Sub to go with the pair of Yamaha's for bigger gigs and gigs with my band. I think the Alto TS line are quite popular for budget. In saying that I don't think an audience would care to much for the lack of Sub. ![]() I have just purchased a Yamaha DBR 12 and it sounds really good through this as well but I miss the kick of the sub. Mainly the sub brings the drums and bass alive. ![]() I got a used B52 Matrix 1000 cheap and it sounds fantastic through this. I can't really comment on other options for using backing.Īs for gear to get the best out of Vocals as well as Drum and Bass backing tracks, they sound like crap through a guitar amp. Once setup properly it is very easy to use and you can use the footswitches to start/stop/control song and also switch to next song but can be a bit of a steep learning curve with it. You could download the Manager software to try it out on a computer with out having to buy one. ![]() There are also a fair few user created drum and bass tracks on the beatbuddy forum. It can provide simple looping drums straight out of the box or using midi editing you can make your own beats and you can also add bass lines to it. Probably not the cheapest option but works a treat. I will include my clip I have on you tube to give you an idea how it sounds.įor the backing I use a Beatbuddy Drum pedal. I consider mine a bit of a budget setup but it still might be more than your looking to spend. What your looking to do is what I have got going on at the moment. ![]()
